Under a federal
initiative to "wire" all school classrooms to the
Internet, SAPIUM implemented wireless networks at many Los
Angeles Unified School District locations. Wireless
networking was the best solution for many of the older schools
that faced expensive cabling costs associated with asbestos
removal, trenching or structural integrity issues.
